Merry Christmas!!!!

Well, here I am at home literally snowed in...yep, that's right snowed in! We have about 2 feet of snow...seriously, we measured! It's crazy here! I can't even believe that we have this much snow. We are supposed to be in Lynden with mom, dad, Joel, Amy & sweet little Kaleb tonight but we had to postpone our plans until the weekend. Hopefully by then we can get to their place safely. It's too bad & I was feeling a little grumpy about being snowed in but I got over it & enjoyed this beautiful snowy day with Craig & the boys. I baked, the boys played in the snow, we watched a movie & now we are about to have a nice dinner together. Not our usual Christmas Eve plans but lovely just the same.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!

Fellow blogger Shawna thought it would be fun to tour our homes virtually this holiday season so we could see every one's decor! I love to decorate for Christmas & I love to see how other people decorate too so I was excited to take part in this. Most of the Christmas decor in our house is red, green, silver & white...starting with the wreath on our front door which I made this year. Enjoy our home...hopefully it looks as cozy & inviting as it feels!

Okay, so these are the boy's trees...I decided to keep little hands off the big tree I would get the kiddos their very own tree to decorate. They LOVE this & the trees are stripped of their decorations & re-decorated everyday. And, "the big family tree is not that exciting because once it's decorated it's just for looking at"...these were Jonah's words this year! Joshua's tree is usually missing a lot of ornaments, they seem to end up in very unusual hiding places!

Last year we started a tradition of having our families over to our place to build Gingerbread houses. Both of our parents & siblings come over...it's so much fun! Here is our creation this year!

Ahhh, the tree...by far most favorite Christmas decoration every year! We bought this 7.5 foot tree the year of Jonah's first Christmas. I have a white ribbon with a red, green & silver design on it...red, silver & white ornaments of all different sizes...and of course a whole bunch of sentimental ornaments from years gone by. I have no tree topper because I have yet to find one that I really like!

This is the mantle. Unfortunately the stockings could not be put out this year because they are way too enticing to little hands! I do love the mantle though, especially when the fire is on & the candles are lit! I bought garland & lights this year, then added some beads & some other red, green & silver decor I had.

This is the centerpiece on my dining table. The glass pedestal dish I have had for years & I change what's inside of it depending on the season. This year I bought some new stuff to add to the ornaments that I usually put in there. I really love it when I have candles lit on the table...so pretty! I have no table linens because my precious little Joshua thinks they are for him to wrap around himself for a blanket! So, the linens come out for short periods of time when company comes over. :)

Above my kitchen sink I have a bar counter. Because we have stools around our island in our kitchen we don't have the need for any stools here, so it has become a place to display yummy baking. But over this holiday season I have put some of our Christmas decor up here. I love that when I stand at the sink to do dishes I see all these precious little Christmas trinkets! This is my S'more man cookie jar from my mom...love him! Along with him I have my BELIEVE tart burner...love that too!

The most precious little gift Craig & I have received this year. Jonah made this Nativity scene at Preschool. How sweet is that? That too is above the sink for me to look at all the time!

This is Jonah's Gingerbread house & Tree creations. They too sit on the counter above the kitchen sink. So precious, I'm pretty sure he would decorate the whole house if I let him.

These are my tiny Shepherds with their cute lil' sheep. They are at the top of the stairs on the half wall with Max Lucado's book "One Incredible Moment"

Snow fun...

Just a few pics of the boys enjoying the beautiful snow we got today!

Something new...

For the last couple of months I have been praying about having a little something to call my own. Something that is un-related to my home, kiddos & hubby...don't get me wrong, I LOVE being a stay at home mommy, but I find that it's easy to get lost in it. Your world easily becomes consumed by all things related to taking care of them. Which I do love, but I also need to have something that I can escape to...am I making sense? If you are a mom, I know that you totally understand & I need not to explain myself anymore! *smile* Anyways, I am excited to say that I am starting up my own Pampered Chef business! I love PC & use their products daily. I love to cook, bake & meet new people...so I think this will be a perfect fit! I will be up & running in January & already I have a couple people interested in having a PC Party! I am excited to have a little something outside of my home & family that I can do. It has all come together rather quickly & I know that it's going to be a good thing. :)

So, that is it for me today. I am off to build a lego tree house with Jonah, then we will go outside to enjoy some of this beautiful snow! Happy Wednesday!

PS - I was going to post my home all decked out for the holidays, as per a request by fellow blogger Shawna, but I can't download pics right now...so sad! Maybe it'll work later!

I'm here...really I am!

Between the busyness of the season, some coughs & colds December is flying by! I have a few posts that I have written but I want to post pics with them so they'll have to wait!

We are full holiday mode around here! The tree is up & the house is decorated...ahhh, I love it! It is my favourite time of year! I promise I'll get up to date here, but not right now...I have a little boy who needs some extra TLC today. Maybe later tonight...I'm off to snuggle up & watch some Veggie Tales with Jonah. Have a happy Tuesday everyone!!
