A big day today...

Today was a busy day in the Inman house...most days are but today had some new & exciting things happen! When I say exciting, I mean exciting for the boys & precious for mommy & daddy! :)

For a while now Jonah has been asking for a dog or asking when we are going to get one. Now, I have always grew up with a dog in the house so I figured one day we will add a dog but not just yet. My darling hubby on the other hand is not completely sold on the idea....yet! :) A few weeks ago we had the chance to house sit my sister's dog, a pug named Josie. She is a darling little dog & so good with kids that we thought it would be a good experience for the boys to see what having a dog is all about. Jonah loves her & really enjoyed having her to look after. He wanted to do everything for her himself. This was precious but at the same time made for some comical moments. One morning he let her out to pee (all by himself) which was fine except she had to be on a leash & she wasn't....the adventure ended with me running through the neighbours yard in my pj's in the pouring rain at 8 in the morning! Funny now, not so much at the time! :) Jonah said that dogs were a lot of work but he still wants one....we told him someday!

So, all that to say that we decided a fish might be a little bit better for us in the mean time. Jonah & Joshua were SO EXCITED when we said they could get fish. It was so precious! Jonah took great care in picking out the fish he wanted. It had to have purple & blue on it with really long fins. And that is exactly what is swimming in the fish bowl right now. Joshua on the other hand wanted the fish that moved a lot. He said it was the "happy fishie." Jonah has named his fish Dory & Joshua changes the his fishie's name every time he sees it. They sat staring at their fish for like 40 minutes...talking to them, feeding them & making sure they liked rocks & seaweed in their bowls. Like I said, exciting for the boys & precious for us!

The second big event in our home tonight is Jonah's very first "tent camp out" in the living room. Jonah has been working on this tent since Monday night...truthfully! Each day he has played in it, added to it, changed it & perfected it. He calls it his camping website! We referred to it as his camp site & he thought it should be called the camping website. Adorable! Because I had a Pampered Chef party this evening & would be out, the evening was declared MAN NIGHT! So, that meant they watched the hockey game & had snacks in the camping website. Jonah informed me that only boys could sleep in the camping website on Man Night so I had to sleep in my bed & then he would invite me to the camping website when it was MOMMY'S NIGHT!!! Joshua loves his crib & went to bed there with no interest in sleeping anywhere else. Craig said Jonah fell asleep in minutes in his little makeshift tent and like the wonderful daddy that he is, he will be joining him tonight in the camping website.

Moments like today remind me of all the precious things that children bring to our lives. I can't imagine a life without these dear little ones. What a gift they are!

(I'll try to post some pics of our newest little family members as well as the camping website in the next few days)

Such fun to see this world through the eyes of children. I love it! Can't wait to meet your new fish :)
